Assemblymember Jose Medina was elected to represent the people of California’s 61st Assembly District in 2012. During his tenure with the Assembly, Medina has fought for jobs in California as the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy.
Medina devoted a 35-year long career to improving California schools as a high school teacher with the Riverside Unified School District. He served three terms on the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees and oversaw the largest expansion in the college’s history.
During his time in the Assembly, he authored a bill that secured $15 million in annual state funding for the UC Riverside Medical School. He has consistently placed the issues important to his community above partisan politics and worked together with a broad range of partners to implement positive changes in the community.
His dedication to his constituents - not party bosses - makes him the most qualified candidate to represent Assembly District 61. As a leader Jose Medina strives to create a better tomorrow for future generations. The Independent Voter PAC is proud to endorse Jose Medina for re-election this November.
