Jim Wood is running for the 2nd Assembly District, a district he has served in numerous capacities for over 8 years. He moved to Northern California in 1987 as a small businessman to run his own dental practice.
He has been an active member of his community ever since. In 2006, he won a seat on the Healdsburg City Council and served on the Healdsburg Planning Commission for four years. He currently represents the people of Healdsburg as mayor.
He has utilized his substantial background in healthcare to become a leader in state and national health care policy. As a member on the Board of Advisors for the Pediatric Dental Initiative, Wood helped establish a dental surgery center for children with severe dental problems.
During his service to his city, Wood has supported initiatives focused on increasing government effectiveness and spearheaded a streamlined “one-stop-shop” building permit process, a model now being considered other counties in California.
He would bring unmatched experience to Sacramento if elected as California’s next Assemblymember from District 2. The Independent Voter PAC proudly endorses Jim Wood for Assembly District 2.
