Every Vote Will Count in Assembly District 66

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) recently held a “Kickoff to Victory” rally at his campaign headquarters in Torrance, inviting supporters and volunteers to gear up for election season.

“Absentee ballots begin dropping in just a few weeks and there is no doubt about it — this is going to be a close race and every vote will count,” Muratsuchi said in a statement. “Our campaign has the momentum, but I need your help to spread the word and bring it all home for the South Bay on Nov. 4.” - Rafu Shimpo, Los Angeles Japanese Daily News

In the June primary, Muratsuchi narrowly came in second behind his opponent, Republican David Hadley - a difference of around 500 votes. The district has a Democratic advantage, but the growing presence of No Party Preference, or independent voters, makes the race competitive this election.
