Steve Glazer has served his community for over a decade, first with the Orinda City Council in 2004 and currently as Mayor. As City Councilmember and Mayor, Steve Glazer helped balance the budget 10 years in a row.
While Glazer is a registered Democrat, he vocally urged the Democratic party to be more inclusive, telling California Democrats to stop pushing moderates and fiscal conservative voters away.
“There is an attitude by party interests that if you’re a Democrat from the Bay Area, you must be a 'supersized liberal,' or else you’re a traitor to the cause,” said Glazer at a recent UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies panel.
He has demonstrated his independence by not relying on party leader endorsements when supporting candidates and policies. Instead, Steve focuses on problem solving, not party politics.
His willingness to differentiate himself from his political party and speak on behalf of his constituents, rather than his party, has earned him endorsements from Democrats and Republicans alike.
Glazer now faces a March 17th primary battle against three registered Democrats. The sole Republican candidate, Michaela Hertle, who recently dropped out has endorsed him as the one candidate who can make a difference.
The Independent Voter PAC is proud to support Steve Glazer for California's 7th Senate District.
