Assemblymember Ian Calderon was elected to represent Assembly District 57 in 2012, a district that encompasses parts of Whittier, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, and La Mirada. He has since proven his dedication to California’s youth, veterans, and seniors by working across party lines to pass meaningful legislation in the state.
He has taken an active role in the Assembly, authoring legislation aimed at protecting homeless veterans, seniors in community care facilities, and children involved in the arts.
As the youngest member in the Assembly he was appointed Chairman of the Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media Committee. The position is particularly important to Assembly District 57 due to its close proximity to Los Angeles - a global center for the entertainment, art, and sport industries.
His dedication to his constituents extends far beyond his office in Sacramento. He is well-known for taking an active role in the community and being accessible to all voters, regardless of party affiliation. Every year, Ian organizes one of the largest College and Career Fairs in his district, with over 1,600 kids and over 40 of the nation’s top colleges and universities attending the fair in the last two years.
He is willing to put the needs of his constituents above the demands of his political party, working with members all across the political spectrum in order to produce results for his district. The Independent Voter PAC is proud to support Ian Calderon for another term as the representative for Assembly District 57.
